Lead Generation For Sunshine Auto

Here’s one we created for a local used car dealership trying to compete on a state-wide level.  The story with Sunshine Auto in Great Falls, Montana is a common one in markets that haven't made the move over to “internet marketing.” We've known Shane for about two years before he asked what Rocket could do for his firm. “My dad’s been hesitant to get into the world of digital marketing because he’s run the company through traditional channels in Great Falls for over 30 years. That’s where Rocket lead generation solutions comes in—we created a customized funnel that took every aspect of Sunshine’s successful traditional model into account, and then we synthesized it with an online marketing strategy. 

The Result?

Over 300% increase in application rates for car viewing and financing requests within the first 30 days. After 90 days Rocket’s email and SMS marketing campaign began generating a revenue that paid for the entire package.

Facebook advertising?

When we took this project, Sunshine had three separate Facebook profiles, no uniform information in any review apps (Yelp, Foursquare, etc.) and they were receiving five applications to their online portal per month. We fixed that. Rocket consolidated the Facebook profiles of Sunshine Auto, we updated all information in third party apps and we began a comprehensive marketing campaign with Facebook Lead Generation ads—a type of advertising platform that captures relevant information from prospective clients. We implemented this ad type with the same laser targeted ads we used in our Access Fitness model which landed over 170 new client leads for another local gym.
In the case of our ads for Sunshine, we collected information on the customer’s down payment amount, the vehicle type the buyer was interested in and the date they were looking to buy. Along with those questions we gathered names, addresses, cell phone numbers and email addresses. While that was the information that Shane initially asked us for, we took it one step further.

Simplified Landing Pages; Incredible Segmentation

After collecting the basic information from our Facebook advertising, the customer was redirected to a simply, lighting fast single landing page we built custom for Sunshine on our Rocket Content Management System (CMS) which is hosted on Amazon AWS.
On this page, we segmented Sunshine’s leads based on the date they were interested in purchasing a vehicle, the car type the customer was interested in and the down payment amount the customer had available.
This segmentation served two purposes. First, Shane was able to prioritize which customers he needed to reach out to, and second, this segmentation dictated which automated customer journey the new lead joined.

Automated Customer Journey: SMS & Email Campaign

There is nothing more nerve-wracking for a company than turning over customer interactions to a third party. At Rocket, we look at the customer journey in a holistic way—from the initial advertisements that get them to buy-in, to the segmentation and follow up marketing
campaigns, everything is optimized to insure your customer’s get the best treatment possible.
With Sunshine, the leads were broken down into three segments:
  1.  In market A—Looking to buy in the next 2 weeks.
  2.  In Market B—Looking to buy in the next 3 months.
  3.  Near Market—Looking for a car in the next 3-6 months.
This allowed us to tailor each customer journey for value added lead nurturing. 

The “In Market A,” group received a follow up SMS 30 minutes after submitting their form to Rocket. This prompted them to a check their email were they received a “Check List” specially designed to shorten the sale cycle for Sunshine Auto, and have the customers prepared and ready to get into a new car before Shane or his dad even received a call.

The next two groups received “value add” emails that kept Sunshine Auto top-of- mind. Our most successful email campaign was one that prompted the leads to “Check out our online reviews, and let us know if you have any questions.”

Sunshine had a reputation online and around the community for being one of the most honest car dealerships in the city, and by directed the prospective customers to read those reviews, we were able to help develop the trust so necessary when customers are looking to make large purchases.

Conclusion

Sunshine Auto got more than they bargained for when they signed up with Rocket, and they are still a very valuable client for us.
What’s in store for Sunshine? We’re working on a marketing campaign to amplify and grow their email list while getting people to come in before the height of car sales: tax-time.
